Red light therapy (photobiomodulation) uses specific wavelengths of red and near-infrared light that reach into your tissue and act directly on your cells’ mitochondria, the part of the cell responsible for producing energy. One of the clearest documented mechanisms: this wavelength releases nitric oxide that’s gotten stuck on an enzyme called cytochrome c oxidase, freeing it up so your cells can produce energy more efficiently.
More available cellular energy means faster tissue repair, reduced inflammation in the right cases, and better pain control. It’s completely painless, takes about 10 minutes, and is done fully clothed using a clinical-grade panel, not a consumer device, so the wavelengths and power output are actually strong enough to matter.
