How am I going to pay for treatment after a car accident?

You’ve already been paying for it.

One of the first worries patients have after a car accident is: “How am I going to afford the care I need?” The good news is that in Utah, you don’t have to put off treatment because of cost. Every auto insurance policy in our state includes Personal Injury Protection (PIP) benefits. PIP is designed to protect you. It provides at least $3,000 of medical coverage per person, per accident—regardless of who was at fault. That means whether you were the driver, passenger, or even a pedestrian, you’re entitled to care that helps you recover without having to wait for a settlement or worry about out-of-pocket bills.

At Kinetic Chiropractic, we make the process simple. We bill your auto insurance directly under your PIP coverage, so you can start treatment right away. For most patients, that means no upfront cost and no delay in care. And if your injuries require treatment beyond your PIP limit, we’ll guide you through your options, whether that’s working with an attorney under a lien or transitioning to our affordable cash rates.

Your focus should be on healing, not on fighting with insurance companies. PIP was created to take the financial stress out of recovery, and we’re here to make sure you get the full benefit of it.

Common Auto Accident Injuries We Treat

  • Whiplash and neck pain
  • Headaches and post-concussion symptoms (like dizziness or tension headaches)
  • Back pain (upper, mid, or lower spine)
  • Shoulder, hip, and knee injuries from the force of impact
  • Muscle strains and ligament sprains
  • Reduced range of motion and stiffness

Even minor accidents can create soft tissue damage, joint stiffness, and inflammation. Our goal is to address these problems early, restore normal function, and prevent long-term issues. By combining muscle work, chiropractic adjustments, and rehabilitation strategies, we help you return to your normal life as safely and effectively as possible.

Why Choose Chiropractic After an Accident?

Safe, natural care to help your body heal from whiplash, back pain, and other injuries

After a car accident, it’s common to be given medication for pain relief — but that doesn’t always address the root of the problem. Chiropractic care focuses on restoring healthy movement to your spine and joints, calming down irritated muscles, and helping your body heal more fully instead of just masking the pain.

Because chiropractic care is non-invasive and drug-free, it’s a safe choice for most patients soon after an accident. Gentle soft tissue work can ease muscle tension, while targeted chiropractic adjustments (always tailored to your tolerance) can improve mobility and reduce inflammation. This combination not only helps you feel better faster, but also lowers the risk of chronic pain or stiffness down the road.

Many patients also find chiropractic care fits well alongside other treatments they may be receiving, such as physical therapy or massage. It’s a practical way to support recovery, improve function, and get back to everyday activities — without relying solely on painkillers or waiting for symptoms to go away on their own.

What to Expect on Your First Visit

01

Detailed Consultation & Examination

We’ll start by gathering important details about your accident, your symptoms, and your overall health history. This includes reviewing your pain and functional limitations, as well as collecting information about your auto insurance, claim number, and attorney (if you have one). From there, we’ll perform a thorough physical exam, check your range of motion, and order imaging if necessary.

02

Initial Treatment

If it’s safe to do so, treatment typically begins the same day. Early care often includes gentle soft tissue therapy to reduce muscle tension, improve blood flow, and help calm inflammation from whiplash or other accident-related injuries. As your body allows, we may introduce chiropractic adjustments, mobilization, or other therapies to restore motion and decrease pain, but we always keep treatment matched to your tolerance and healing stage.

03

Personalized Care Plan

Before you leave, we’ll review a customized care plan outlining how often you should come in, what treatments we’ll use, and what results we expect. We’ll also explain how your care is covered through Utah PIP (Personal Injury Protection) so you know what to expect financially. If you’re working with an attorney (which we highly recommend!), we’ll handle communication directly with their office to make sure everything is seamless for you. Your only job is to focus on healing. We’ll take care of the rest.

Dr. Kakishita provides exceptional care with remarkable attention to detail. I initially became his patient at his previous practice, and when I learned he had opened his own clinic, I immediately looked for him. His outstanding treatment has significantly improved my mobility and reduced my pain. His unique approach and genuine concern for patient wellness make him stand out in his field. I've experienced consistent progress under his care and wouldn't trust my spinal health to anyone else. He is highly recommended for anyone seeking quality chiropractic treatment.

Dr. K is an amazing chiropractor!! I was dealing with a lot of lower back and hip pain and he worked with me for months and gave me exercises and stretches I could do at home in addition to what he could do in office. He made me feel important like I was the only patient he was working with and was truly concerned with my well being and in helping me get back to running and moving like I had in the past. Definitely recommend him and the treatment he does!!

I can’t recommend Dr. Andrew at Kinetic Chiropractic enough! Unlike other chiropractors who rush you in and out with a quick two-minute adjustment, Andrew truly takes the time to understand your pain and address the root cause of the issue. From the very first visit, he was incredibly thorough—asking the right questions, assessing my mobility, and developing a plan tailored to my needs. He doesn’t just do a basic adjustment and send you on your way; he goes the extra mile by incorporating muscle work, mobility exercises, and practical advice to help you heal and prevent future issues. You can tell he genuinely cares about his patients and wants to see long-term improvements, not just temporary relief. If you’re looking for a...

Dr. Kakishita is hands down the best chiropractor I’ve been to. He took the time to really listen to my concerns and explained everything in a way that made sense. I never felt rushed—he was thoughtful, thorough, and you can tell he truly knows what he’s doing. During my visit, he didn’t just do a quick adjustment and send me on my way. He adjusted me, did scraping on my back, used shockwave therapy on my arm, and put on tape to help with recovery. He also offers ice packs though I didn’t take one for my visit. He came up with a personalized treatment plan and shared it with me so I knew exactly what to expect moving forward. A lot of chiropractors feel like they’re just trying to get you in and out—but Dr. Kakishita is different. He...

If you’re looking for a chiropractor that really cares about you and takes pride in their work, go see Dr. Kakishita at Kinetic Chiropractic! I walked into his office with a very limiting back injury after several days of not being able to perform typical daily activities. Nothing can explain my quick turn around other than Dr Kakishita’s willingness to really hear my issue and treat me according to my needs. I felt the exam was very personalized and thorough, and he asked clarifying questions about my injury along the way. 10/10 would recommend for any chiropractic needs, big or small!
